Locorum welcomes placement students and has worked with students from the University of Huddersfield and from different campuses of Kirklees College.
Each placement is tailor-made to meet an individual student’s interests and requirements and to fulfil placement requirements.
Full supervision, guidance and evaluation are offered so that students gain valuable experiences that help to enrich their learning elsewhere. Please contact us to discuss opportunities.

Emma Knutzen, a history student, undertook a 150 hour placement, included interviews, transcribing, researching, curating and designing display materials that contributed to an exhibition and open house at the Antilles Credit Union, Trinity Street, Huddersfield as part of Heritage Open Days events across Kirklees, in September 2022.
Teaming up with Building African Caribbean Communities, we traced the role of informal savings schemes within Huddersfield’s African Caribbean descent community. We asked how and why did informal savings schemes help the Windrush Generation and their descendants?
We researched their Caribbean and African origins, their local significance and how they have made a profound difference to people’s lives.
